January 21, 1812 Hazlitt's Second Lecture
On January 21, 1812, Henry Crabb Robinson attended the second lecture given by William Hazlitt. He had also attended the first lecture on January 14, 1812, which had not been a success. See my earlier post here.
On January 21, 1812, Robinson noted in his diary his attendance at the lecture:
Hazlitt's second lecture. His delivery vastly improved and I hope he will now get on. He read at Basil Montagu's last night half his first lecture. He was to read the whole but abruptly broke off and could not be persuaded to read the remainder. Lamb and other friends were there.
